• What is Miteri Gaun- Let's Live Together Campaign?

  Everywhere, each birth is count as HUMAN. The reason, name and meaning is same as creature of nature to everywhere as, for, to, by HUMAN. Imagine that you can born in Africa or US or Europe or Nepal or somewhere with the nature of HUMAN. But, socially, human being constructed and recognized as poor and rich, developed and developing, good and bad and so many other names which is social injustice and inhumanity. In this connection, `Miteri Gaun-Let'sLive Together Campgain' is born for being HUMAN in everywhere and for forever. Thus, this is collective efforts of individual, groups, institutions who have passion and commitment to live together regardless of class, caste, region, religion, race and so on.

  मीतेरी गाउँ के हो ?

  जन्मदा हरेक ब्यक्ति मानव भएर जन्मछ । सधै प्रकृतिको सृष्टि, संरचना हो मानव । कल्पना गर्नुस तपाईं अफ्रिका, यूरोप, अमेरिका नेपाल जहाँ जन्मे पनि मानव नै हो । तर समाजले नामाकरण गर्दै ठुलो सानो, धनी गरीव, राम्रो नराम्रो, कालो, गोरो भन्छ । जुन सामाजिक अन्याय हो । यस परिबेशमा यो मीतेरी गाउँ संगसंगै बाचौ अभियान सदै, सवैतिर मानव भएर बाँच्नका लागि सुरुवात गरिएको साझा अभियान हो । तसर्थ कुनै व्यक्ति, संस्था जो सामाजिक सेवाप्रति दृढ रहि मीतेरी गाउँ, संगसंगै बाचौ अभियानमा सामाजिक सेवा गर्ने भावानाले ओतप्रोत भएर यस अभियानमा संलग्न व्यक्त्ति, संस्था, संजालको सामुहिक अभियान हो । जसले पाखा पारिएका र परेका व्यक्त्ति,समुह, क्षेत्र, लिग,जातको शसक्तीकरणको पक्षमा काम गर्दछ ।

  Why it is important?

  It is very relevance and crucial across the world by various reasons. It is more significant and relevant due to following reasons;

  1. Cultural Aspect: Regardless of region, religion, caste, class in Nepali society, a culture is existing since ancestor's time called MEET. It refers to mutual respect and love beyond marriage and blood relations which goes and practiced through generation to generations. It is indigenous practice which establishes the relationship between dalit and non-dalit, poor and rich, urban and rural and among other sub-cultures and sub classifications. Simply it is very spontaneous or voluntary efforts to build equal, justful society.
  2. Social Aspect: It is more comprehensive and serious because many girls and boys are not only living in deprivation from education, foods, shelter, health and information but also died due to these. Here, the small contribution from MEETs cherished to ensure the rights of upbringing kids, women and others as and when required. The drops of an individual MEETs contribute to become ocean because many hearts are seeking opportunity to contribute for humanity or nobal cause.
  3. Political Aspect: Now, everyone talking and enjoying democracy. But in somewhere in Nepal such as Karnali, Mid and far western, people are living within scarcity, starvation, ignorance, inequality where women, girls and children are in vulnerability and risks by any perspectives. In such scenario, the sustainable development and peace is not possible without addressing such gaps, miseries' at local, regional and global level.
  4. Economic Aspect:The government's efforts and contribution for economic growth and prosperity is not adequately address and possible either due to various reasons such as funds, geography and others. In this connection, each individual can contribute and should contribute as a civilian or human that could be as a form of charity or social corporate responsibility or Public Private Partnership.
  5. National and International Context: Feeling and practice of the humanity is exist in Nepali society from ancestors time e.g. digging the way for the pilgrims. An emerging idea of PPP-Public Private Partnership at international society, Nepali society is also moving ahead. As a result, individuals and institutions are working for social cause as a practice of Corporate Social Responsibility.

  यो मीतेरी गाउँ, संगसंगै बाचौ अभियान किन महत्वपुर्ण छ?

  वास्तवमा यसको महत्व तथा क्षेत्र अन्तराष्ट्रियरुपमा भएता पनि यसले नेपालको वर्तमानमा विशेष महत्व राख्दछ ।

  1. सांस्कृतिक पाटोः नेपालको जुनसुकै क्षेत्र, धर्म, जात तथा संस्कृतीमा मीत लगाउने प्रचलन विद्यमान छ । मीत धनी—गरीव, ठुलो—सानो, उच—नीच, शहर—गाउँ, दलित —गैरदलित जुनसुकै समुदायमा पनि सम्मानित र आपसी माया, सद्भावको भावनाले लगाइन्छ । जुन रगतको, विवाहको नाताभन्दा माथि उठेर पुस्तौपुस्ता अस्तित्वमा रहन्छ ।
  2. सामाजिक पाटो : सामाजिक पाटो अझै गहिरो र विस्तृत छ । नेपालका कतिपय गाउँ बस्तीहरु यस्ता छन् जहाँ बच्चाहरु स्कुल जान सकिरहेका छैनन् आमाहरु चुलो बलाउन असमर्थ छन् र बाउहरु मुग्लानमा अमानबिय जीबन जीउन बाध्यछन् । अर्थात मानिसका आधारभुत आवश्यकता गाँस, बाँस, कपास, शिक्षा र स्वास्थ्यबाट बन्चितमात्रै हैनन् मृत्युको मुखमाछन् । यीनै प्राप्तिको संघर्षमा जविनको इहलिला प्राप्त गरीरहेको सन्दर्भमा मीतहरुले गरेको सानो सहयोग एकले थुकी सुकी सयले थुकी नदी भने झै अत्यन्तै सान्दर्भिक र महत्वपुर्ण छ ।
  3. राजनैतिक पाटोः आज देशले गणतन्त्रकोेरुप प्राप्त गरिरहेको अवस्थामा पनि गरीव, दलित, महिला,पछाडिपारीएका क्षेत्र जस्तै कर्णाली र दुर्गम समुदायका आधारभुत आवश्यकता पुरा भइरहेको अवस्था छैन । अभाव, अज्ञानता, अशिक्षा, असमानताबाट नै ठाउको पहिचान हुन्छ तसर्थ समृद्धि र शान्त नेपालको परिकल्पनालाई यथार्थ बनाउन पनि मीतेरी गाउँ संगसंगै बाचौ अभियान अत्यन्तै सान्र्दभिक र जरुरी छ ।
  4. आर्थिक पाटोः राज्य तथा सरकारी निकायले मात्र नेपालको विकास संभव छैन । चाहेर पनि राज्य देशका कुना काप्चामा पुग्न अहिलेको अवस्थामा अझै संभव छैन तसर्थ व्यक्त्ति समुदाय वा संस्थाले सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्व अन्र्तगत गरिने सानो सहयोगले पनि देशको आर्थिक विकासमा टेवा पुग्दछ ।
  5. राष्ट्रिय तथा अन्तराष्ट्रिय परिवेशः नेपालीहरु सामाजिक भावनाले ओतप्रोत भएर काम गरेको रामे र हाम्रो इतिहास छ । कोही दिनदुःखीका लागि, बटुवाका लागि भनेर पाटी, कुवा आदी बनाउने परापुर्व कालदेखिनै विद्यमान थियो । अन्तराष्ट्रिय स्तरमा नै सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्व९ऋयचउयचबतभ क्यअष्ब िच्भकउयलकष्दष्ष्तिथ०को अभ्यास बढ्दै गइरहेको बेला नीजि स्तरमा वा सहकारीका रुपमा स्थापित कुनै पनि संस्था वा निकायले आफ्ना देश विकासको लागि पहल गर्नु देशका लागि अत्यन्त सान्दर्भिक त छदैछ अपरीहार्य पनि बन्दै गएको छ ।

  Where does it work?

  Currently, it works in Karnali as an entry strategy. In Jumla, it has been working formally since two years where as some activities are going ahead in Mugu, Kalikot. However, it will expand gradually more villages in Karnali and other districts. It has contact office at Kathmandu as well as in districts.

  मीतेरी गाउँ कहाँ काम गर्छ ?

  एक्सन वक्र्स नेपालले मीतेरी गाउँको आफ्नो पहिलो केन्द्रविन्दु कर्णालीलाई मानेको छ ।जुम्ला मुगु कालिकोट र हुम्लाका लागि प्रयास अगाडि बढी सकेको छ भने यसको कार्य क्षेत्रलाई अझ संस्थागत गर्दै बिस्तार गर्नेे यसको भावि कार्यक्रम छ ।

  How and who will join in this campaign or become MEETs in this campaign?

  Any individual, school, company/organizations, hospital etc who have passion and commitment to and for humanity, will become MEET of this let's live together. Likewise, in terms of contribution, cash, books, toys, voluntarism; distance and field based, medicine, clothes etc accepted. However, must consider the humanity at all aspect.   यो अभियानमा सहभागिहरुले कसरी मीत बन्न सक्छन ?

  यो अभियान मीत लगाउने र संगसंगै बाच्ने अभियान हो यसमा सामाजिक भावानाले ओतप्रोत भएका व्यक्त्ति, संस्था, स्कुल, संचार, अस्पताल जो कोही पनि संलग्न हुन सक्छन ।
  आफ्नो क्षमता, इच्छा अनुसार मीत लगाउन सकिन्छ । पैसा, सामग्री जस्तै किताब, खेलौना, कपडा, औषधी आदि स्वंयसेवक वनेर (कार्य क्षेत्रमा गएर अर्थात टाढा रहेर पनि सहभागी बन्न सकिन्छ ।

  Is it charity based organization or NGO's campaign?

  It is mixed in nature. The one major component of fund raising is based on charity. But its implementation is beyond that. Because it is not confined in improvement of condition of target people such as food, shelter, education or health but also seeks the policy intervention, ensure rights and establish the social positions as well. For example, it is not only provide scholarship for children, it also discuss about the education right with parents, school management committee, parents and empower them to claim their rights e.g. where is the scholarship of dalit quota? Is poor dalit using this or others?

  के यो अभियान अरु च्यारिटी अभियानमा भन्दा फरक छ, छ भने कसरी ?

  हो,यो अभियान अरु च्यारिटी अभियान भन्दा फरक छ । किनभने यसले मानबको दैनिक गुजारा टार्ने, खाने, पढ्ने मात्र नभई नीजले मानब भएर पाउनुपर्ने सामाजिक मान,मर्यादा र राज्यले सुनिश्चत गर्नुपर्ने नीतिसम्मको दायरा ओगटेकोछ ।

  Isn't it duplication or repeating the same as doing government and NGOs?

  Absolutely NOT. The government has been trying to engage with the most marginalized groups by policy though the most marginalized communities still deprived and they are struggling for basic needs, the rights is far ahead from them. Likewise, NGOs are still far behind to reach the mind and soul of the marginalized groups/communities.

  कि यो मितेरी गाउँ को काम सरकारी र गैर सरकारी निकायको काम सित दोहोरिएको छैन र ?

  बिल्कुलै होइन । सरकारी निकाय र गैर सरकारी निकाय बापत भए गरेका कामहरु अत्यन्तै बिकट क्षेत्र तथा समुदायमा अझै पुग्न सकेको छैन । यसरी मितेरी गाउँ कार्यक्रम अत्यन्तै बिकट क्षेत्र तथा समुदायमा पुगेको छ जुन न दोहोरो भएको छ न खप्टिएको छ ।

  Miteri Gaun is aligning with the strategy of Action Works Nepal : 2012-2016. Miteri Gaun is major component for the fund raising, organizing and mobilizing the stakeholders at various sectors and levels.

  मितेरी गाउँ के हो अनि एक्सन वक्र्स नेपाल के हो ?

  मीतेरी गाउँ एक्सन वक्र्स नेपालको एउटा महत्वपूर्ण काम वा पाटोे हो । जसले एक्सन वक्र्सको रणनैतिक निती २०१२–२०१६ का आधारमा काम गर्दछ र बिशेष गरी यसले एक्सन वक्र्स नेपालको कोष बिकास, बिस्तार सरोकारवालाहरुलाई बिभिन्न तहमा र क्षेत्रमा संगठीत गर्दै र परिचालन गर्दछ ।

  What will MEETs get after involvement?

  It depends on individual choices and differences through most of the MEETs would get as following;

  4. •  Can be logo and link with the website those who are working as a corporate social responsibility
  5. •  May be different on the basis of bi-lateral discussion and negotiation
  6. •  Action works Nepal could organize training or exposure or keep continue who are high level commitment

  How does Action Works Nepal categorize the MEETs?

  Indeed, there is not justice to categorize the MEETs on the basis of the contribution and involvement. Any organization or individuals can be the MEETs. However, by considering the organizational management and sustainability, MEETs classified as following;
  MEETs: those colleagues and organizations contribute to the campgain as their wish
  Active MEETs: Thoes who are involved at least more than 2 years in multiplication of the MEETs and actively engaged in fund raising under the supervision of Action Works Nepal team.
  Permanent/Regular MEETs: those who are working as active MEETs for more than two years, she/he eligible for getting membership of the action Works Nepal

  वास्तवमा मीत हरुलाई बर्गिकरण गर्नु उचित वा न्यायसंगत कुरा होइन तरपनि सस्थालाई व्यवस्थापन गर्न र निरन्तरता दिन निम्न बमोजिम बर्गिकरण गरेको छ ।

  How will the contribution use at the targeted group?

  The use of contribution is depends on the context of the working area. However, the primary focus is to improving educational quality by supporting teaching materials, teachers, scholarships, bridging course, teacher's training and support to women and others who are in vulnerable situation in target areas as defined by the AWON' strategic plan 2012-2016.The entire support is being used in holistic approach by program and component of the population.
